Ioana Sings

Ioana Sings is influenced by many exceptional artists, such as ColdPlay, Alicia Keys, Lianne La Havas, The xx, Finneas, etc. Her music is independently produced electronically with original musicality, catchy melodies, and powerful vocals. She is inclined towards clean, soul-pop modern sounds with glimpses of ColdPlay-inspired power chords and electronic experimental accents. Backing vocals are also an important part of her music, and she often creates songs which allow the audience to sing along. In fact, her concerts always feature at least one song where the audience is included. “It is important to connect through shared experiences,” she says.

In 2012, after a series of failures in Romania, Ioana arrived in Denmark with twenty euros in her pocket, no place to live, and no plan. All she knew is that she would do anything to build a life centered around creating and performing music. After a period working night shifts in different unqualified jobs to pay back debt and struggling to find a place to live, she started performing again. The struggles she went through were all for music.

Ioana sings. Ioana’s voice is the power source of all her music. Since coming to Denmark, she has learned to play piano and ukulele and had numerous bands while constantly developing her voice. She creates meaningful music with strong statements about world problems and common human feelings, wrapped in good hook lines to make you move and enjoy the moment. Her voice is powerful, yet simultaneously sexy cute(some say). Audience members say her voice makes you stop talking and listen.
